Raya Bonanza has made its appearance once again to bring more hype to our most celebrated holiday – Hari Raya. This year’s Raya Bonanza is boasting from an extensive range of items such as traditional to a more modern wear baju kurongs, headscarves, accessories, beauty products, delicious kueh and other yummy snacks and biscuits best suitable for our upcoming Eid as gifts to our loved ones and even to break our fast with.

If you have not know yet, Raya Bonanza is known as their “High class shopping experience”. Upon walking towards the Songket Hall in Rizqun, banners are plastered all around screaming High Class Shopping Experience with local and international brands such as Aliff Syukri, Auni.bn, Clazel Exclusive, Kabajoux, Noor Mutiara Scarves, Sara’s Boutique Brunei, Elmira Collections and so much more. They live up to the expectations by bringing more and well-known international brands for a wider choice for everyone.

The first thing you’ll notice once you entered the hall is how neatly everything is lined up. It has an open concept which I find very practical given the fact that the sole purpose of people going to these events are to shop. It was definitely a sight for sore eyes especially after a tiring day you’ve had at work. There were crowds of people going in and out of the hall and we were immediately welcomed by posters and sign boards as well as the sellers calling in on us, attracting customers to come and have a look at their booths.

The event itself carry a varieties of different types of baju kurong designs, which for me, are plenty to cover, at least for my first week of Aidilfitri. If you’re like me who literally has ran out of ideas on what to wear, or how to carefully design and mix & match my outfit this year, then event such as these are perfect! Hence, you have to make sure you have enough cash in your wallet if your intention is just not to window shop because if your will isn’t as strong as mine then you’ll be walking away with more than one shopping bags. And just to clarify… I came in with just my handbag along with zero intention to shop; yet, I left with 2 extra shopping bags. I am now in need of reasonable yet believable explanations on how I’m going to explain my impulsive shopping habits to my parents.

While walking around to the beat of the Hari Raya song in the air and trying hard to stick to window shopping and deciding “should I should I not” get that magnetic brooch. The excitement of Hari Raya can already be felt on the first week of Ramadan and it was inevitably palpable. And then suddenly the hunger you felt from early in the morning slipped away while you were preoccupied with retail therapy, which is always a nice alternative to dieting.

Have I mentioned they also sell cara melayu for men and children as well? I was amazed on the amount of baju kurongs and cara melayu as young as toddlers to the age of 12 can be found at Raya Bonanza. One particular shop that caught my attention was the Dressar.bwn, which sells variety different types of abayas and kaftans. These abayas are flown directly from Dubai and by different types, I’m referring to the much more modern-robe-like abayas, batwing abayas and khaleesi inspired abayas which have been taking the trend by storm as of lately. It ranges from $70 to $120, and for the convenience of everybody, they also accept BIBD credit transfer.

Dressar.bwn also provides an adorable selection of abayas specially made for children to match up with their mommy’s abaya! These children abayas costs $30, which I find shockingly inexpensive. Plus, these “chic” abayas are perfect for Ramadan as well as the upcoming Eid. This is the time to channel you inner Jasmine and Aladdin in this festive season, minus the flying carpet.

So, what are you waiting for? Head up to Raya Bonanza to keep yourself at ease with all the Raya preparation! It is held at Rizqun Songket Hall, level 4 from 10AM to 10PM. This will only last until this Sunday. Hurry!
