The middle of the week has arrived and it has brought along with it the inevitable fatigue and that drained, tired feeling after working so hard day after day. It’s the best time for a pick-me-up and what better way to pick yourself up and get back on those two feet with an easy, chocolatey treat? Thursdays are for treats, and today we have a 3-ingredient recipe Nutella mug brownie!

This recipe is an adaptation of Gemma Stafford’s from Bigger Bolder Baking.

You will need:

  • ¼ cup of Nutella
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons flour/oats for a healthier kick!


  1. Mix the Nutella and the egg well in your favourite microwaveable mug.
  2. Pour in the flour/oats and mix it well. Now you have your batter!
  3. Pop that batter into the microwave for 1 minute and you’re done!

You will know when your Nutella mug brownie is done when you gently press on its top with the back of a spoon and are greeted with its warm, chocolatey firmness. Make sure to not overcook!

Scoop a dollop of vanilla ice cream onto your Nutella mug brownie and you are now ready to lounge back in your living room with your favourite TV show on and with your loved ones to share your Thursday delight with!
